Automatic Feed Forms Joint Venture with Heinrich Georg

New Georg Automatic Feed, Ltd. to provide coil processing lines to service centers

Columbus, Ohio, April 10, 2006 – Automatic Feed Company (AFCo), Inc., an ISO 9001: 2000 certified designer and manufacturer of coil handling and press feeding automation equipment, and Heinrich Georg GmbH Maschinenfabrik (Kreuztal, Germany), an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer of coil processing and finishing lines and machine tools has announced the formation of Georg Automatic Feed (GAF) Ltd., a joint venture company to be located in Columbus, Ohio. GAF will initially focus on providing coil processing equipment to the steel industry and service centers including responsibility for sales, engineering, product development, project management, installation, maintenance, controls and service needs.

“To compete effectively in today’s manufacturing market, it is critical to have global capability,” said Automatic Feed Company President Kim Beck. “Forming a joint venture with a well-respected company, such as Georg, allows both companies to expand into new markets without the expense of building totally new infrastructures. We are excited about the growth opportunity that GAF brings to us both.”

“Our companies complement each other extremely well,” commented Mark Georg, General Manager, Heinrich Georg GmbH. “Both are leaders in their industries with Automatic Feed having a strong presence in the American automotive OEM market and Georg with good capability in supplying European metal service centers. Our joint capability will allow GAF to provide state-of-the-art slitters, multi-blanking machines and processing lines to the U.S. service centers. This will be a great addition to the American equipment manufacturers.”

Beck added that the similar backgrounds of the two companies have helped the joint venture come together smoothly. Both companies were established in the late 1940’s and are family-owned and ran.

The GAF Columbus office will handle sales and some service needs. Manufacturing and engineering support will be provided from the Automatic Feed Company and Heinrich Georg GmbH. This is the second joint venture company that AFCo has announced in 2006.
